The law requires school districts to hold a public hearing on the approved categorical program transfers included in their budgets. The hearing must be held annually during a regularly scheduled board meeting. The transfers must be listed separately indicating specific amounts, as well as where and for what purpose they were transferred.
For the 2011-2012 school year the Food & Nutrition Services & Transportation Departments will be holding an application round up. During this time free and reduced meal applications and bus applications will be available for parents to fill out. Free and reduced meal applications will be processed on site and notification of eligibility will be given. Bus pass applications will also be processed on site and a bus pass will be issued that day.
PVUSD Congratulates Recipients of Educator, Classified and Administrator of the Month Awards
It is with much honor that we congratulate district staff that recently received the Educator of the Month, Classified Employee of the Month, and Administrator of the Month awards. The district is fortunate to have business partners that seek ways to acknowledge the extraordinary work of our teachers, classified employees and administrators. The Educator of the Month and the Classified Employee of the Month Awards are sponsored by Brecek and Young, a financial planning firm located in Watsonville, specializing in retirement planning. The Administrator of the Month Award is sponsored by Tri-County Realtors.
To Levy and Collect School Facilities Fees (Level 2/3) Pursuant to Government Code Section 65995 ET SQ
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District at its regular meeting to be held on June 22, 2011, will hold a public hearing and consider adopting a resolution to levy and collect Level 2 and Level 3 school facilities fees pursuant to Government Code Sections 65995 ET SEQ.
Aptos Jr. High students stand up against bullying with wristbands and a pledge
Thirteen-year-old Kate Garrett is part of a group taking school bullying into their own hands. No, the Aptos Junior High students aren't about to throw any punches. Nor are they going to start a vicious rumor or poke fun at a classmate's shoes. Garrett, as a member of the school's Gay Straight Alliance, has joined with other club members to stand up against bullying with the sale of rainbow-colored rubber wristbands that say "Stop bullying -- I am an ally."
The Pàjaro Valley Unified School District was informed that it was awarded a competitive grant through the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) program which is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Competitive Grant. The grant totals $250,000 and will be used now and up to September 30, 2011.
The Pajaro Valley Unified School District is conducting a district-wide parent survey to help our schools know what parents think and feel about their child's school experiences.
